What It Does
Community Catch Measure brings together AI fish measurement and engaging community features, making it easy to showcase your catches and join monthly challenges!
When you upload a photo, Fishbox will:
Identify the fish species
Estimate its weight
Estimate its length
Let you instantly share your catch with other anglers
Place your catch into the monthly challenge (if eligible)
How to Start Measuring
To begin, open the Community tab from the bottom menu.
From there, you can start measuring by tapping: Measure My Catch, Measure, or Join Challenge. All lead to the same Upload Your Photo screen.
Photo Requirements
For best accuracy, make sure your photo meets these rules:
✔️ Allowed
One adult holding one fish
Fish fully visible (not cropped)
Neutral, clean background
❌ Not Allowed
Children in photo
Multiple fish
Cropped or partially hidden fish
Inappropriate content
Accuracy can vary depending on photo quality. Clear, high-quality images allow the AI to perform best.
The “Allow Fishbox to Feature My Photos” Toggle
At the bottom of the upload screen, you’ll see a toggle. This toggle determines whether your measured catch stays private or becomes part of the community + competition system.
If the toggle is OFF:
Your fish is measured only
It stays private
It will not appear in feeds, rankings, or challenges
If the toggle is ON:
Your catch becomes part of the community system.

Here’s how the challenge works:
Each fish category (species) shows only the Top 10 catches for the month.
If you start measuring from the Top in [Month] page, you will also see a “your rank” note — even if you are not in the Top 10.
