How do I Add My Catches?

Learn how to log your catches in the app to track your fishing history

Want to save your best fishing moments and track what you’ve caught? You can log your catches in just a few taps using the Fishbox app on iOS.

⚠️ Heads up: Catch logging is currently only available on iOS. You need to be logged into your Fishbox account to add a catch.

🟢 Where to Start

You can add a catch in Fishbox in two different ways:

🤖 Option 1: Measure Fish with AI

Use Fish AI Scan to measure your fish from a photo.

Please note:

  • Available only in USA and Australia

  • Available for Public catches only

  • Fishbox will automatically fill in catch details based on the AI scan

Map → "+" button → Measure Fish

✍️ Option 2: Add a Catch Manually

Prefer entering the details yourself? You can start manual catch logging from several places:

  • Tap the “+” button and then choose “Add my catch” in the bottom-right corner of the Map tab

  • Tap “Log a Catch” inside a spot or waterbody card on the map


📝 Steps to Add a Catch Manually

  1. Upload a Photo or Video
    Choose a photo or video from your library — or take one with your camera.
    (You can skip this step if you don’t have a photo yet.)

  2. Set the Location
    Use the map to drop a pin where you made the catch.
    If you started from a fishing spot or waterbody, this will be pre-filled.

  3. Enter Catch Details

    • Add the fish species, weight, length, and time of catch.

    • You can also mark your catch as Public (visible to others) or Private (just for you).

    • Tap “Advanced Details” if you want to add your method, bait, or gear.

  4. Tap “Save” — and you're done!
